The WorldSTE2013 program will deliver a comprehensive and diverse program for all delegates. Renowned science and technology education professionals will present to all 2000 delegates during plenary sessions, and a variety of conference topics will be presented during con-current sessions. The program will also offer delegates the opportunity to network during a variety of social activities and field trips.

A full conference program will be available soon; however, in the meantime here is one of the conference program highlights:

The Chisman Oration

The Chisman Oration, the major evening address at International Council of Associations for Science Education (ICASE) World Conferences, is named in honour of Dennis Chisman (1928 – 2008).  Having been a leader in science education worldwide for many years, Dennis was present at the inaugural meeting of ICASE on 15 April 1973.  Following the meeting Dennis was appointed as the first Executive Secretary and Treasurer, and he remained a leader in many projects for more than 30 years with ICASE and other international organisations.  Dennis was twice presented with ICASE Awards and is affectionately known as ‘the Father of ICASE’.   The 2013 Chisman Oration will be delivered by Dr Robin Groves, Curtin University, Australia.  Dr Groves collaborated with Dennis Chisman on many ICASE projects and was a close friend and colleague from 1984 to 2008.

The Chisman Oration will also be hosting a premier cocktail event preceding the presentation by Dr Groves.
